Here is what is happening THIS WEEK AT ST JAMES.
When you attend worship at St James, here is what you can expect!
As you come in the front door, you will be greeted by friendly people. You will be offered a name tag. We all wear one every week (yes, I’m the pastor and I wear one every week) and you would be surprised how much this helps when you are interacting with others. Anxiety about remembering names and calling someone the wrong name is removed!
Our sanctuary has beautiful views of the mountains to one side and stained glass to the other. There are no bad seats! We use two flat screen monitors to project information during the services. Hymnals are available in the pews, but we also project all lyrics and readings.
We invite families to worship together and strive to make our services accessible to all.
Our worship services feature music, prayer, Scripture readings, a message, and Holy Communion is celebrated each week. In the United Methodist Church, communion is open communion, which means you are invited to participate even if you are not a church member, or a Methodist. It is God’s table!
You will have the opportunity to share your prayer concerns if you wish and your concerns will be included in our prayers. We also try to incorporate opportunities for participation and contemplation in each service.
Feel free to dress casually and comfortably–there is no dress code!
Each Sunday, we follow worship with a time for refreshments and conversation in the Tatom Room (right next door to the sanctuary).
