There are THREE WAYS coming up to serve our community and make a difference! You can choose one, two or ALL THREE!
#1 SERVE OUR CITY
I am a little late in sharing this, but I think it is one of the greatest opportunities we have had in recent memory to grow our faith and impact Tucson with the love of God! Dozens of churches and ministries in our city are collaborating on one big day of service: November 15! Yes, this is a Sunday! You are encouraged to BE THE CHURCH that day! Getting involved is not complicated! We talked last Sunday in worship about US doing OUR part in God’s vision for the world: “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done…”. Well, here is an opportunity to DO that! All of the information you need (including how to ask questions) is HERE!
#2 An annual tradition: we serve by helping others have a holiday meal!
We receive referrals from Happy Trails School, Holaway Elementary, and others and then we prepare a box with everything needed! At this link, you will find a list of what you need to purchase. If this is too big a project for you alone, ask friends or family members to work with you! You could make it a workplace or family project! We will need all items delivered to St James on Thursday, November 19 from 9am to 4pm or Saturday November 21 from 3-4pm. WE HAVE THREE BOXES SIGNED UP FOR, AND WE CAN USE AT LEAST FOUR MORE!
Go HERE for all the information!
#3 Donate Items to Our Food Pantry
We have several people using our food pantry every time it is open (Tuesday and Thursday 9am to 4pm). Many of these are families with children. Pick up a few items for our food pantry. You can drop them off at St James on Tuesday and Thursday between 9am-4pm, and Sunday 9am to 1pm.
List of items to purchase is here.
