Today, we invite our members and regular attenders to commit to giving to support St James during 2019. Information about Stewardship (including an online pledge card) is here.

Notes for worship today:

Today we consider the promises we made when we were received into membership of the United Methodist Church:

As members of Christ’s universal church, will you be loyal to the United Methodist Church, and do all in your power to strengthen its ministries?

As members of this congregation will you faithfully participate in its ministries by your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service, and your witness?

God puts us in strategic situations and entrusts us with gifts and resources. How will we use these gifts? What decisions will we make in the situations in which we find ourselves? Will we think missionary about how we can leverage our combined resources to advance the kingdom of God? We must act shrewdly to use what we have, but we can multiply that if we work together. That is the beauty of individuals working together as a church and also churches working together as a denomination.

“Who does not thank for little, will not thank for much.”
-Estonian Proverb

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever.”  Psalm 136:1
