This week we discuss what Wesley called sanctifying grace. How do we grow in our faith? How do we learn to follow Jesus more closely? God’s salvation is not a one-time event, but a life of being saved from the effects of sin.

Our Scriptures were Acts 2.1-5, 41-47 and John 14.15-19.

Notes for the Sermon “Living in Grace”

Last week we discussed that in justifying grace, God forgives us and accepts us when we turn to him. But where do we go from there? Following Christ is a way of life. It is not just getting our ticket punched to heaven. The answer to the question “What is next?” is God’s SANCTIFYING GRACE: God works in us to save us completely. God works in us to make us more like Christ.

But the question remains: How do we receive this grace? How does sanctifying grace work?

1-God’s sanctifying grace comes to us through the Holy Spirit.
2-God’s sanctifying grace comes to us through the means of grace.
